Labor Day is in the rear view, the kids are back in school and yes….we are ready for some football!  Never mind that the heat index is in the 90’s, fall is on the way and Scott is hitting the road starting with shows in both his adopted and original home towns.
Knoxville’s Bijou Theatre gets a big show with The Commonwealth in tow on September 16th; up and coming songwriter Aaron Lee Tasjan is the opener and V-Roys alum, Mic Harrison and the High Score is playing an after show at The Preservation Pub.  Pace yourselves friends.
Just a skip and a jump from Staunton, The Wayne Theatre and Performance Center is becoming a regional destination for arts and entertainment.  A note from Scott: The have done an amazing restoration of this beautiful old theater where in my youth I saw such classics as “Song of the South”, “Purple Rain”, and those scary documentaries Orson Welles hosted about the proximate end of the world.”  Scott takes the stage on October 14th – if you want to go, better make plans now before all his relatives buy up the tickets.
Massachusetts, Really?
In October, Scott is making a rare run down the east coast on a co-bill with twang queen extraordinaire Sarah Borges.  Those of you asking for shows north of the Mason-Dixon, please mark your calendars.  First stop is Cambridge MA at the cozy Atwood’s Tavern, then on to New York City’s American Beauty, this venue appears to be presenting roots music without the requisite “aw shucks” ambiance.  World Cafe Live – Upstairs is the Philadelphia venue of choice and then on to Jammin’ Java for our pals in the DC area.
